Marla-Sunshine Kellard Jones is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in sculpture. Kellard-Jones’ practice explored mourning as both methodology and subject, shaping the conceptual and material framework of their works, her engagement with objects and surfaces, both physical and archival, is informed by an animistic ontology in which objects possess agency and presence.
Central to her work is the convergence of personal and collective experiences of death and resulting memories - positioning loss as both an individual encounter and a shared social condition.
